Be Curious is the University of Leeds’ annual family open day and this year includes Smeaton300 activities as part of the events programme. Moon Palace – the magical mobile observatory inspired by John Smeaton’s lifelong love of astronomy – will also be at the event!

Each year the Be Curious team turn the campus into a hive of free family-friendly activities. It’s an event for all aspiring artists, scientists, engineers and beyond. Dive into the programme and find your next adventure at Be Curious.

This year a new quiet hour has been introduced for visitors who prefer a calmer environment. Between 10am and 11am, the number of visitors will be limited to allow you to move around campus at your own pace. If you want to come for the quiet hour, you’ll need to book a ticket. You can book before the event or on the day if we have any spaces.

Come along and get hands on with the research that happens right here in Leeds!
