Announcing the Smeaton300 x Leeds 2023 Programme
We’re excited to share a preview of our Smeaton300 x Leeds2023 programme of events happening later this year.
Launching in the summer is our major commission with Leeds 2023, East Leeds Project and artist Heather Peak and Ivan Morison is the magnificent Moon Palace mobile observatory. The mobile observatory is inspired by the legacy of John Smeaton and the observatory he built in East Leeds and will tour the city up to December 2023.
In the autumn it’s time to get playful with engineering at museum events, STEAM activities in schools and interactive workshops in libraries. Later in the season we’ll be hearing talks and debates from bright minds in art, culture and science to get us all thinking big about our future.
